Fabrication of template pipes is one of the most cost-intensive job routings in the shipbuilding or plant engineering industry. The whole production process, from taking measurements of the planned pipe course, making a pattern or wire mockup, processing the data of the pipe geometry, manufacturing the pipe, verification of the fitting up to the final installation, is difficult and accompanied by high expenses and an extreme time requirement. In order to economize these processes TRACTO-TECHNIK has developed an automated system solution, which is unique in the world.

The isometric data of a template pipe to be inserted between two connecting points (flanges or sleeves) are precisely determined and stored by means of the SCOPELINK automated measuring system within only few minutes. If required these data can be directly sent to the pipeshop via Internet or company network, thus enabling an immediate fabrication of the template pipe.
In case of manufacturing the pipe by bending, the corresponding bending data can directly be calculated on basis of the isometric data aquired by means of SCOPELINK. If, in addition to this, the template pipe has to be inserted between two flanges, the automated assembling system ROBOFIX is used to assure precise welding of the flanges to the template pipe in correct position. For this purpose the system resorts to the flange positioning data, which were also taken by SCOPELINK at the jobsite, and precisely positions two flanges towards each other, thus modeling the assembling situation of the jobsite.
The completely prefabricated template pipe can now be transported to the jobsite, where it is inserted at perfect fit.
